When Rainbow Jack comes into Laramie seeking a grubstake, no one is interested except Birdcage hostess Stephanie Collins whose father was a miner.  Rainbow gives her a half interest in another mine as security.  After Rainbow leaves, his nephew comes to town and tries to buy the half interest back.  She refuses to sell out Rainbow's dream, despite the urging of everyone in the Birdcage that she do so.   Rainbow -- who comes back in time to overhear her impassioned support of his dream, tells her she just turned down $1800 for half interest in a mine that brings in $4000 a day.
