According the the credits books, this is another story of a lawman gone bad.  A former marshal with whom Troop served as deputy is planning to rob a stage.  This episode had to be filmed in two parts.  As they were filming a scene in which Johnny needed a pocket knife to dig out a bullet.  They were in a hurry because Peter had to get on a plane to receive a newcomers award to be given him in an awards ceremony by John Wayne.  In the rush someone gave him a sharp nonprop knife which he partially opened with his teeth and finished opening across his thigh, making a serious gash.  He was forced to meet John Wayne on crutches.
