When a crude mountain man sets his sights on Lily as a wife, Dan pretends they're engaged to get rid of him.  Instead, the man decides he has to get rid of Dan.  Luckily Johnny disobeys orders and follows Dan out on midnight patrol.  He thwarts the mountain man's plans.  One of the more interesting aspects of this episode  is that Peter Brown sings "Streets of Laredo."  They had him picking it out hesitatingly on the guitar.  Although Peter is the first to say his singing voice is no more than pleasant without a big range but it would have been nice to have had him sing this song straight through.  (If you want to hear Peter sing for real, get the Warner's Christmas album which occasionally appears on ebay.   Peter sings Winter Wonderland with chorus backup.)
