When the gang he's riding with kill a man trying to take his wife to a doctor, Joe quits the gang and takes the woman to Laramie.  When the woman's delicate condition demands that Joe play the part of her husband, he falls for her.  He joins Dan and Johnny in fighting his old gang.  It's our recollection that Edd Byrnes was married to Asa Maynor at this time.
