Chantay runs away from the Indian school right into Johnny's arms.  Indian policeman Great Bear takes her back despite her protests that the schoolmaster makes her do bad things.   When Chantay runs away again, Johnny finds her under his bed and must now take her back himself.  They find Great Bear's body on the trail back to the Indian school.  Chantay, figuring she's better off in prison than at the Indian school, confesses to killing Great Bear.  It's up to Johnny to find the real killer.
